A little over a week ago Pride WA held a pseudo-secret photo shoot for the faces of this year’s festival. To fit in with the Homecoming theme, a troupe of local and recognisable talent was hand picked, dressed up, and shot through a lens. The images from the photo shoot will be used in all festival marketing materials. Here’s a sneak peak (Art direction by Ben Duncalf, photography by Stef King).

Some interesting facts from the photo shoot: 19 ‘characters’ are featured in the campaign. 2 Roast chickens, 12 boiled eggs and 2kgs of sliced meats were used over the course of the day, as well as 5 sets of ‘OTT’ lashes and several packs of hair extensions.

Look out for the Homecoming Festival campaign shots coming soon to a Vogue magazine near you. More images behind the post cut!
No post from me today. Instead, watch this video of one of my all time favourite songs evaaar. The B52s are coming to Perth in December! My life is complete!
If you only know ‘Love Shack’ and ‘Roam’ you’re missing out.
Today boomtick officially announced the date and lineup for Parklife 2009. Unfortunately it falls on the same day of Fairday. Long story short I got into a lengthy debate with Andrew from Pride WA about which event people will go to. We need your input on this, people!
Please answer the following poll. If it affects your decision, you can see the Parklife 2009 lineup here.
Pride WA’s website has had an extreme makeover in preparation for the Homoecoming Festival. They are also calling for volunteers to help out with upcoming Pride events and the annual festival. If you’re interested, throw them a line via their website.

Dedicated gay and lesbian film festival, Glamfest, is quickly approaching with the launch night on Wednesday 15 April. Thirteen films will be shown at Astor Cinemas in Mount Lawley over a five day period. Content ranges from homo high school musical to dyke docos and all around gay dramas (the family and relationship kind, not the ‘Saturday night at the Court’ kind).

Most of the films are across the weekend of the 18th and 19th, so if you were a fan of Hoyts movie marathons back in your high school days, but didn’t think they were gay enough, this might just be your cup of tea.
Launch night tickets are $20, the rest are $12. Or, you can bulk buy 5 tickets for $50 here (excluding the launch). I’ll be at almost every movie, stay tuned for reviews.
A final note: $1 from each ticket will be donated to Gay & Lesbian Community Services (GLCS) for their important phone counseling work, so be a good Samaritan and go along to a few flicks.
